Prerequisites

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma from a recognized Ontario secondary school (OSSD) including at least 6 courses taken at the 4U/M level (Grade 12 pre-university or pre-college level), including one 4U French course, or an equivalent provincial or international diploma.
  • Minimum academic average of 70% (depending on the program) in these 4U/M level courses or equivalent, per the province or country where the courses were taken, including 70% in FRA4U (for students in French language secondary schools), or FIF4U (for students in immersion French), or FEF4U (for students in core or extended French).
• Minimum 3 years of study at the secondary school level where French is the main language of instruction.

Additional Admission Criteria

Students who have not studied for a minimum of 3 years in a French-language secondary school can submit one of the following tests to demonstrate their French-language proficiency: The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) achieved with level B2 (at least 70 out of 100) or The Test de français international (TFI) with a result of at least 700 (out of a possible 990) or The Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) (Études version) with a result of at least 600 (out of a possible 900) or The Test du connaissance de français (TCF) with a result of at least 450 (out of a possible 699)

Language Requirements

We are a fully French-language university and proud of it!

An applicant to a program at the UOF has to have completed a minimum of 3 full years in a program where French is the main language of instruction.

Otherwise, the applicant must submit the official results of one of the French-language proficiency tests recognized by the University: 

• The Test de français international (TFI) with a score of 700 or above (out of 990).
• The Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) with a score of 600 or above (out of 900).
• The Test de connaissance de français (TCF) with a score of 450 or above (out of 699).

Offers of Admission

UOF admission criteria:

• Secondary school diploma from a recognized institution in Ontario or the equivalent education according to the province or country in which the diploma was completed.
• Successful completion of at least 6 courses taken at the 4U/M level in Ontario (Grade 12 pre-university or pre-collegial level) or equivalent level according to the province or country in which the courses were taken.
• Achieve a 70% average in the 4U/M courses, including 70% in FRA4U, FIF4U or FEF4U.
• Minimum of 3 years of study at the high school level where French is the main language in which they teach.
